Location Type Away from it all, Rural, Other
Private, secluded three bedroom home nestled within 35 wooded acres and sitting on the ridge of Chautauqua Creek Gorge. Coveniently located a short drive from many Chautauqua County recreational venues such as Lake Chautauqua and Lake Erie, Chautauqua Institute, Chautauqua Wine Trail, City of Jamestown but off the beaten path. Great for family reunions, fishing camp, wine tasting tours, nature retreats, snow mobiling, hiking or a nice relaxing vacation. The cabin comfortably accommodates 8 adults but can sleep 15 with plenty of parking for recreational vehicles and space for outdoor camping as well. A large covered patio includes a natural gas grill. Lake Chautauqua is a popular tourist destination but lake rentals are very crowded. The cabin is close enough to enjoy the lake but offers privacy and seclusion that cannot be found with a lake front rental.
Spring and Fall Steelhead trout runs and proximity to Lakes Erie and Chautauqua make the cabin a perfect location for fishing base camp.

As someone who has visited Chautauqua Gorge several times by day trip, renting a cabin that shared a driveway with the gorge trailhead was extremely convenient! It was excellent for a friends weekend away. We did feel the appearance of the bedrooms seemed dated including the comforters on the beds, but overall we liked the rustic feel and loved the isolated location of the cabin. We were impressed with the large covered patio and the hot tub felt great after a day of exploring the gorge. The owner was very informative and kind to us. Having the cabin right at the gorge is an appealing reason for us to consider staying here during our next trip to Chautauqua Gorge.
I spent the Columbus day weekend here with 5 of my adult children/spouses and 9 grandchildren ranging from an 8 month old baby to a 13 year old girl. It was perfect for us – plenty of room for sleeping for all of us and comfortable for children. A little crowded when we were all inside at the same time due to rain, but we all had a great time. In fact the 13 year old could have gone home early with her Dad but chose to stay (and she hadn’t wanted to come to begin with!) The cabin is in a large clearing with lots of room for the kids to run and play. The driveway was nice and long and great for the 5 and 6 year old boys (4 of them) to ride their bikes. Everyone loved the hike to the gorge, going multiple times, and the 2 year old girls managed just fine with help. We had one warmer sunny day when we made the short trip to the Westfield beach and enjoyed the wild waves. When it was raining we had fun playing games and watching vintage Popeye videos we found there. We weren’t there long enough to enjoy everything the area had to offer but would love to go again. And I would enjoy going with a smaller group of adult friends for a quieter experience!
Cabin at the Gorge is a special place. We have been coming here for many years for a yoga retreat and are never disappointed. The quiet seclusion of the woods brings peace and harmony. The Gorge is a beautiful hike, with the trailhead just at the end of the drive. I highly recommend Cabin at the Gorge!
A Superb place to stay while in town scuba diving at Osprey Charters. This place is awesome! The owner is very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed ourselves at this cabin with a large group of scuba diving friends. Enough rooms very clean and the owner makes the whole process seamless. A highly recommended rental. We will be back!
perfect place to get away has everything. Full kitchen dinning area. loft, hot tub, deck off the kitchen with a view. plenty of room to entertain. location is off the beaten trail but not so far that you can’t get things you need..The event we booked it for was only 15 min away..Have to see it to believe it..will visit again hands down. Five stars.

Eight friends enjoyed this peaceful secluded cabin/ home with everything you need but your food. We brought that and barbecued on the gas grill, enjoyed breakfast on the patio watching nature as a Bambi ran by. Hiked to the gorge then soaked in the hot tub. Wine tasting at Noble Winery minutes away with a fabulous view of the lake. Bandit series racing at Lake Erie was only 25 minutes away. My favorite was walking the sandy beach just out of Westfield maybe ten minutes from the cabin. Bonfire and marshmallows at night. The place has everything for a peaceful relaxing getaway but within easy distance of activity if you want. We’ve been here as a family iof three and a reunion of dozens and it never fails!! Always a wonderful time

The cabin exceeded expectations. Everything we needed for a wonderful visit was provided. Towels, sheets, blankets, full kitchen, beautiful deck facing woods, huge front covered porch (rain disnt bother us).
The master bedroom has a large Jacuzzi tub and you’ll find the secret toilet hidden in a closet! TV’s, music, DVD player all there to use. Comfortable living & dining rooms too!
Loved the view from the hot tub.
Can hardly wait to visit again.

We had a great trip to the cabin at the gorge in July. The home is not fancy but very spacious and accommodating for large groups looking to relax and have fun. We enjoyed the hot tub, deck and large yard. The hike down to the gorge is beautiful. It located within miles to several wineries as well! We plan to return!

“Great Steelhead Camp!”
I planned a Steelhead trip with 9 other guys. We stayed here and I have to say it was perfect. Plenty of room for all of us and having the huge porch to hang out in was awesome, especially with the wood burning stove. The location was great giving us many options as to where to fish. Tom was there when we arrived and was very helpful with a tour ofthe house and where everything was located. Nice having the washer and dryer there too, came home with almost all of my gear/clothes clean.
Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? Absolutely!
“fantastic!”
The property alone makes the rental worth it. 39 wooded acres and access to the gorge was enough to thrill me. The fully furnished cabin (really more of a house) was a nice bonus. Owner Tom is a nice guy and is very relaxed. I can’t wait to stay again! The cabin has beds for 17 people I think. We had 5 and it was perfect.

“Wonderful experience!”
Everything was exactly as it was stated to be. The setting of the cabin is picturesque. You see woods out of every window, and if it’s quiet and solitude you want, this is the perfect place to stay. The cabin was warm, neat and clean and has all the amenities you need for an enjoyable stay. Thank you for this lovely experience at the Cabin at the gorge, we will definitely be back to enjoy the serenity, the views, and the comfort that the cabin provides!

“New Years Eve”
Cabin at the Gorge was a great place to get away. I would recommend staying here. The cabin was clean, roomy and had lots of fun things to do. The only downfall was the hot tub was not on during our stay.
